How To Accept
Christ
The decision to follow
Christ is the most important choice you will make in life.
If you are
interested in accepting Christ as the Lord of your life and enjoying eternal life in His presence,
there are a few things that need to be realized and
done.
-
Realize that all have sinned and need a Savior.
"For
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
(Romans 3:23).
"If
we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
(I John 1:8).
-
Cost of sin.
"For
the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord"
(Romans
6:23).
-
Why did Jesus come to die?
Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me."
-
Confess your sins to God.
"That
if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe
in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
(Romans 10:9-10).
-
Live for others.
" And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for
themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."
(2 Corinthians 5:5).
-
Answer his call.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears my voice and opens the door. I will come in and eat with
him and he with me."
(Revelation 4:20).
-
Believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross.
"For
God so loved the world,
that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16).
-
Receive Christ into your heart by faith.
"But
to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become
-
Proclaim Jesus as Lord.
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
(Romans 10:13).
Are
you willing to surrender your life to Christ?
Are you ready to invite
Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Sinner's
Prayer
If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, with all
earnestly pray the simple
prayer below to God.
"God, I know that I am a
sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am
trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe
that His death and resurrection provided for my
forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as
my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving
me and forgiving me! Amen!"
Congratulations! Welcome to the family of God!
